Referral program for AdWords live for all publishers now

Posted in Advertising, Adsense, Blogs by Administrator on the April 11th, 2006

Jensense reported several weeks ago that some publishers in select countries (US, Canada & UK were amongst those excluded) were able to refer new advertisers to AdWords in exchange for a commission after the advertiser spent a certain advertising value. Now AdSense has released this program to all AdSense publishers in countries and languages where AdSense for Content is currently available.

The program uses buttons and banners very similar to those used for the other referral products (AdSense & Firefox), although these images are definitely red in color. I can only hope they will come out with other colors, as these ones definitely clash with several websites I own!

It is interesting to note that the text on these AdWords images seems pretty pixelated and not quite clear as the Firefox and AdSense images are.
Compare the three 120×60 images from the three different referral products.

Preaty good Adsense placment tips

Meet Ivan the optimiser — but please, no paparazzi
We caught up with Ivan Heneghan, a Dublin-based AdSense optimisation specialist, to learn how ‘optimisation’ differs from ‘optimization’.

Why did you agree to let us profile you?

A brilliant story! After you featured Mike Gutner, a UK-based publisher who I’ve worked with posted to his own blog asking why I hadn’t been featured, whether I even existed, and if I did, guessed that I was “a tall Russian man” with a check shirt and a moustache. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say I’m quite nerdy-looking, and although I do have a moustache, I abhor check shirts.

AdSense changes the referrals from 90 days to 180

Posted in Adsense, Google related by Administrator on the March 3rd, 2006

Following the many rumors of AdSense changing the time frame of AdSense referrals eligibility from 90 days to 180 days, the new interface change on Google AdSense has also included the date change many publishers were hoping to see. AdSense silently changed it from an unlimited signup referral period to a 90 day time limit at the end of January.

AdSense has now officially changed it from the silent 90 days they added recently to 180 days.

You may have noticed today that the time limit for AdSense referrals is now 180 days. Based on the feedback we heard, we agreed that 90 days may not provide enough time for your referred publishers to complete earning $100. Therefore, we decided to double the window. This change is retroactive, so it will also apply to AdSense signups that occurred more than 90 days but less than 180 days ago.
The change is now noted in the control panel for referrals.

Malicious software targets Google AdSense ads

Posted in Adsense, Google related by Administrator on the December 29th, 2005

From: http://jensense.com/
It was only a matter of time before a trojan or virus targeted AdSense or YPM for malicious activity, and the time has come. A new trojan horse discovered by an Indian publisher replaces Google AdSense ads with their own ads, advertising sites including dating, sex, viagra and weight loss. This trojan is very recent, because it not only converts regular AdSense ad units, but also the Google AdSense and Firefox referrer buttons into text links.

“Advertise on this site” finally goes live on AdSense ad units

Posted in Adsense, Google related by Administrator on the November 23rd, 2005

From JenSense excelent blog!

While the new “Advertise on this site” feature was officially launched on Friday, the feature wasn’t actually seen live until late yesterday. So if you were opted in but didn’t see it, you should be seeing it now.

AdSense has a demo here. On the second screenshot of the demo, two company names are listed - epicurean.com information in the header, but the body of the text says PetPlace.com. Perhaps PetPlace was one of the original testers of this feature before it was removed as a case study.

But remember this phrases should be used on sites related to topic “phrases” relate in my opinion making website just to display few adsense adverts and couple of well paid words/phrases is pointless and may bring more harm to community and genuine websites really related to topic, than profits to “a few smart dudes”.
