How To Track All Your Website Traffic For Free

Do you know:
* Exactly how many people are visiting your website? * How long they’re staying on your site before they move on? * Exactly where those visitors are coming from, each day? * How much of your website traffic is repeat visitors? * The exact paths people take as they click their way through your website?

Here’s what I’m getting at:
If you don’t know your visitors, it makes it *very* difficult for you to improve the performance of your website and turn more visitors into customers - AND - get more quality traffic. For the simple reason that you’re effectively working blind.
Without knowing how people visit your site and what they do on your site, any attempts at growing your traffic and improving the profitability of your website is working with one armed tied behind your back, at least.

You have to search a lot to find what is most likely to work for your web site. Once you get an understanding for each type of advertising then you can put it to work.

Website directories: Helpful for one way links to your website to increase link popularity. Do not expect a lot of clicks.

Free Classified ads: Expect what you pay for. Nothing!

Safe lists: Stay away!

Opt in email lists: Terrific! But you need traffic to build your list of opt-in subscribers…

Free Banner exchanges: You need traffic to get traffic from banner ads! In general you’ll earn one banner impression for every two you display on your page. Try banner campaigns in combination with a pop under campaign. Send that cheap traffic to a web page with original content and some banners from 2-6 free banner exchanges. Be careful: Do not create a banner “farm”! The banner exchanges will suspend your account.

1. Make your classified ads stand out in a crowd. Use all capital letters in the headline, divide letters with extra spaces, add in text symbols, etc. For example, you could write, “WIN a VACATION to Las Vegas!” Another example would be, “Win A ($) Trip To Las Vegas!”

2. Buy advertising space on discussion board web sites. They are usually arranged by subject; that makes them highly targeted. For example, if you are selling gardening tools, you would want to advertise on gardening, farm, tool and lawn-related discussion boards.
